Amadeo (65 Days). 65 Days / Dark purple / Fruit to 5" wide and 8" long. The heaviest-bearing eggplant is also the most delicious. Amadeo is renowned for its huge yields of succulent, nutty, bitterfree fruit on spineless plants. Easy to pick and irresistible on the tongue, this is the eggplant you need for the veggie patch. You will probably need to support it once it begins bearing the heavy 5-inch-wide, 8-inch-long dark purple to black eggplants.

Nicknamed avocado squash because of its shape, it has glossy deep green skin, light yellow flesh, and a wonderful, sweet flavor. It is easy to grow and has good fruit set. Ripe fruits measure about 4" in diameter and about 6" in length. Train to climb a vertical support for best air circulation and ease of harvest, or leave to sprawl on the ground. ("I grew a near relative of this, Early Bulam, last season and it was by far the most prolific summer squash in my garden. I used it exactly as I use zucchini (including zucchini bread!), with excellent results. That's high praise from a true zucchini lover. Can't wait to try this one.")
