Worm Composting, presented by UC Master Gardeners Alice Burns and Patrizia Guccione.
Don’t have room or time for a traditional composting system or only require small amounts of compost? Worm composting, known as vermicomposting, is the practice of using worms to turn your kitchen scraps into a rich soil amendment for your plants.
Vermicomposting is remarkably easy and can be done within a very small amount of space. Join UC Master Gardeners Alice Burns and Patrizia Guccione to learn how to build a worm bin, where to find worms, what to feed them, and how to maintain a healthy worm compost bin. Participants will receive all the information necessary to establish a worm composting system and will take home a mini-worm compost cup as a starter..
There will be time for questions and answers after the presentation. No charge.
The San Ramon Library is at 100 Montgomery Street, at the corner of Bollinger Canyon and Marketplace. For more information, please call 925-973-2850 or visit ccclib.org/locations/sanramon.html for directions.
