Alliums: Good and Good for You
Alliums are often overlooked in our vegetable gardens, yet these plants are surprisingly easy to grow and are a staple in our kitchens. Come join UC Master Gardener Janet Miller as she shows you just how easy it is to grow onion, garlic, leeks and others at home and discusses just how valuable these wonderful vegetables are for our health.
About Our Garden
Our Garden is a public demonstration garden of the UC Master Gardener Program of Contra Costa County, located in Walnut Creek at the corner of North Wiget Lane and Shadelands Drive, just north of Ygnacio Valley Road. From April through October, weekly speakers present a variety of information on edibles gardening and home gardening in general.
UC Master Gardeners of Contra Costa maintain the garden and interface with the general public. We encourage you to bring in your home and garden questions and talk with a UC Master Gardener at the Ask a Master Gardener Table (9 am to Noon)!
